The Congregation Council has general oversight of the life and activities of the congregation, and in particular its worship life, to the end that everything be done in accordance with the Word of God and the faith and practice of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Congregation Council is responsible for the financial and property matters of this congregation. The officers of this congregation and the pastor shall constitute the Executive Committee.
The Committee on Fellowship develops and organizes programs of Christian Fellowship for our congregation and within the community.
The Education Committee is responsible for the planning, implementation, and administration of the education programs of the congregation.
The Worship Committee is responsible for developing an organized program of Christian Worship including training and supervision of support personnel, approval of new forms of worship, liturgies, and hymns for use in public worship and providing for assistants, substitute pastors and guest speakers as needed.
The Evangelism Committee provides active parish evangelism and public relations program including visitation to active and inactive members and the un-churched community.
The Memorial Committee acts as agent for the Congregation Council in matters pertaining to memorials in accordance with established policy or at the direction of the Congregation Council.
The Pastoral Committee serves to provide information, advocacy and support to the pastor whenever necessary.
The Nominating Committee meets the second quarter of the calendar year to nominate one or more candidates for each office to be filled, secures the consent of each candidate, and submits candidate names to the congregation for voting.
Building and Grounds Committee:
The Property Committee develops and carries out an ongoing program for maintenance of congregation real property, including grounds, physical improvements, and facility equipment.
The Stewardship process encourages members to identify their gifts, to be grateful for these gifts, to cultivate and use them responsibly, to share them lovingly in justice with others, and to return them back to God with increase. The Stewardship Committee generates ideas and implements steps needed to help members better understand Stewardship and live it out in their lives.
The Finance Committee monitors the financial health of the Congregation, assist in matters pertaining to all financial activities, and recommend a budget to the Congregation Council.
Long Range Planning:
The Long Range Planning Committee develops and annually updates a long range plan for the expansion of the church physical plant, property, worship, and Christian education programs.
The Audit Committee audits the fiscal records of the congregation, reviews insurance coverage, and report its findings in writing at the annual meeting.
